Nellie Galen (Spencer) Cline, 90, of Syracuse, passed away on Thursday, October 25, 2007, at 9:27AM at her residence. She was born on August 1, 1917, in Bryant, Indiana (Jay County), to Ernest & Lizzie (Spade) Spencer.
She married Herman Elmer Cline. He preceded her in death on November 4, 1992.
Nellie grew up in Bryant, IN, moved to Chesterton, IN, in 1940 and moved to Syracuse in 1971. She was a Homemaker, Inspector at Jay Garment in Chesterton and then an Inspector at Plastic Factory in Chesterton, and also provided babysitting in her home. Nellie was a member of the North Webster United Methodist Church since 1972, a member of the Turkey Creek Senior Citizens in Syracuse and the Church Circle in Chesterton.
Survivors include 2 Daughters: Sondra (Larry) Moser of Brownsburg, IN, Beverly "Kay" (Don) Harley of Syracuse, 1 Son: Jerry (Shirley) Cline of Valparaiso, 2 Sisters: Joan (Ralph) Rager of Ohio and Alice (John) Smith of Georgia, 1 Brother: Robert (Winona) Spencer of Indianapolis, 7 Grandchildren, 11 Step Grandchildren, 14 Great Grandchildren, and 22 Step Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and 3 sisters.
Services will be held on Monday, October 29, 2007, at 11:00AM, at North Webster United Methodist Church, 7822 E. Epworth Forest Road in North Webster. Pastor Scott Mann and Pastor Brad Cox will officiate. Burial will follow at McClintic Cemetery. Friends may call from 2-6PM Sunday at the Mishler-Eastlund Funeral Home, Harris Chapel, in Syracuse.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the North Webster United Methodist Church.
