Marise Ellen Smith

Marise E. Smith, 82, of Syracuse, passed away on September 25, 2007, at 2:00 P.M. at St. Vincent Hospice in Indianapolis. She was born on November 11, 1924, in Goshen, IN, to Melvin & Rebecca Dillen.

On August 22, 1943, she married Eugene Smith. He preceded her in death in 1984.

A lifetime area resident, Marise was the Owner and Operator of Marise's Town and Lake Shop (Ladies and Children's Apparel) and the previous owner of Town & Country Shop in Anderson. She was a 1941 graduate of Syracuse High School and a long time member of the Calvary United Methodist Church in Syracuse.

Survivors include 1 Daughter: Diane (Ronald) Winkle of Anderson, IN, 1 Son: Rodney (Pamela) Smith of Phoenix, AZ, 10 Grandchildren and 17 Great Grandchildren and 1 Sister: Lois Novatny of Normal, IL. She was preceded in death by her Parents, her Husband Eugene Smith, 1 Son: Terry Smith, 1 Sister: Katherine Bauer.

Services will be held Saturday, September 29, 2007, at 11:30AM, at Mishler Eastlund Funeral Home, Harris Chapel, in Syracuse. Burial will be at the Syracuse Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-8PM on Friday, September 28, 2007, at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Kosciusko Home Care and Hospice or Saint Vincent Hospice.
