Pearle E. Hazenfield, age 94, of Goshen, formerly of Syracuse, passed away Saturday, June 30, 2007 at Greencroft Health Care in Goshen. She was born on September 15,, 1912, in Metamora, IL, to Reuben J. & Lydia Mae (Bohlander) Attig.
On October 17, 1935, she married Dr. Harold H. Hazenfield; he preceded her in death in 1999.
Pearle was a Public School Teacher and Piano and Organ Teacher for over 40 years and resided in Indianapolis from 1939-1950. She moved to the Syracuse area in 1976, after coming from Dayton, Ohio. She also taught weekday religious education classes in Kettering, Ohio. Pearle was a member of the Calvary United Methodist Church in Syracuse, Ladies of the Round Table in Syracuse, attended the North Central College in Naperville, IL, and Bradley University in Peoria, IL. She was President of the PTA in Indianapolis and band parents organization in Kettering, Ohio.
Survivors include 1 Daughter: Mrs. Robert (Jan) Hirschman of Indianapolis, 1 Son: Hugh Hazenfield, M.D., of Waialua, Hawaii, 5 Grandchildren and 7 Great-Grandchildren, and 1 Sister: Vera Galindo of Goshen. She was preceded in death by her husband, 1 granddaughter and 2 brothers.
Services will be held on Sunday, September 2, 2007, at 1:00PM at the Calvary United Methodist Church on State Road 13 South in Syracuse. Pastor David Herr will officiate. There will be no visitation.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Calvary United Methodist Church, Hazenfield Music Fund.
