Harold H. "Jesse" Hughes, 80, of Syracuse, passed away on Monday, June 18, 2007, at 5:30PM at Miller's Merry Manor in Syracuse. He was born on January 19, 1927, in Syracuse, to John & Valerie Lucille (Hoppel) Hughes.
On November 28, 1971, he married Ruth Maxine (Leiter) Warner. She survives.
A lifetime area resident, Jesse retired in 1992, from Penn Johnson Controls, after 50 years. He was a US Army Korean War Veteran and with the Syracuse Fire & EMS for over 45 years.
Survivors include his wife: Ruth Maxine Hughes of Syracuse; 1 Step Daughter: Laura L. Warner of Syracuse; 3 Step Sons: Larry D. Warner of Mesquite, New Mexico; James Robert Warner of California; Richard A. (Pam) Warner of Middleburg, Florida; 1 Sister: Hattie D. Adams of Louisiana; 3 Brothers: Robert (Florence) Hughes of Las Vegas, Joe (Ethel M.) Hughes of Syracuse, Lamar (Carolyn) Hughes of Missouri; several Step Grandchildren and Step Great Grandchildren as well as several Nieces and Nephews. He was preceded in death by His parents, 2 Sisters: Betty and Kate; 4 Brothers: Jim, John, Howard Richard and Thomas.
Services will be held Friday, June 22, 2007, at 10:00AM at the Mishler-Eastlund Funeral Home, Harris Chapel in Syracuse. Rev. Ken Robinson will officiate. Burial will be at the Union Cemetery in Syracuse. Friends may call from 2-4 & 6-8PM Thursday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Syracuse Fire & EMS.
