Hayes Porter Hidy

Hayes Porter Hidy, 95, of Leesburg, passed away on Wednesday, May 2, 2007, at 2:55PM, at Miller's Merry Manor in Warsaw. He was born on May 18, 1911, in South Charleston, Ohio, to Lester & Sarah (Porter) Hidy.

On November 24, 1937, he married Harriet Lee Thomas; she preceded him in death in 2002.

Hayes was a Butcher for Clauer Brothers Grocery from 1927-1928, was a Salesman for H.J. Heinz Company from 1940-1976, retiring from there as a Manufacturer's Representative. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge in Springfield, Ohio.

Survivors include 1 Daughter: Betty (Ron) Sombronsky of Syracuse, 1 Son: John (Shirley) Hidy of Leesburg, 6 Grandchildren: Jennifer Tuck, Andrea Hoeppner, John T., Christopher, Jeffrey and Jason Hidy, 4 Great Grandchildren: Joshua & Jason Tuck, Alexander & Jeffrey Hidy. He was preceded in death by 3 Brothers and 1 Sister.

Services will be held on Tuesday, May 8, 2007, at 10:00AM, at the Littleton & Rue Funeral Home in Springfield, Ohio. Burial will take place at the Hidy Cemetery in Jeffersonville, Ohio. Friends may call from 4-8PM on Friday, May 4, 2007, at the Mishler-Eastlund Funeral Home, Harris Chapel, in Syracuse. Visitation will also be held at the Littleton & Rue Funeral Home on Monday, May 7, 2007, from 5-7PM with Masonic Services.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Kosciusko County Home Health Care & Hospice.
