Max E. Leamon, 80, of Syracuse, passed away Sunday, January 14, 2007, at Miller's Merry Manor in Syracuse. He was born in Noble County, Indiana, on December 23, 1926, to Harrison and Edna (Deardorf) Leamon.
On September 6, 1944, he married Betty L. Yoder. She preceded him in death on December 23, 2003.
In 1968, he moved to Pine Haven, Wyoming and moved back to Syracuse 6 years ago. Max was a carpenter, Maintenance Manager in the Coal Mine in Wyoming and a Dredge Operator with Sturm and Dillard for 20 years. He was also a member of the Ligonier American Legion Post 243 and a life member of the Syracuse VFW Post 1342 as well as the Past President of the Lions Club in Wyoming.
Survivors include 1 Daughter: Cheryl Bauer of Henderson, Nevada, 2 Sons: Ed (Sharon) Leamon and Jack (Marleene) Leamon, both of Syracuse, 5 Grandchildren and 5 Great Grandchildren and 1 Sister: Thelma Hickman of Albion. He was preceded in death by his wife, 5 brothers and 4 sisters.
Services will be held Friday, January 19, 2007, at 10:30AM at the Mishler-Eastlund Funeral Home, Harris Chapel, in Syracuse. Pastor Myron Drent will officiate. Burial will follow at the North Webster Cemetery, Mock Addition with Graveside Military Honors by the Ligonier American Legion and Syracuse VFW. Friends may call on Thursday, from 4-8PM at the funeral home.
