Robert L. Groves

Robert L. Groves, age 97, of Milford, passed away Tuesday, December 19, 2006, at Lakeland Rehabilitation and Healthcare in Milford. He was born on July 17, 1909, in Milford, to Wilbur Groves and Hattie (Harlan) Groves.

On October 7, 1934, he married Marjorie (Harvey). She preceded him in death in 1992.

Robert moved back to Milford 25 years ago, from Lafayette, Indiana, and was retired from the U.S. Post Office. He was a member of the Milford First Brethren Church, Trinity United Methodist in Lafayette, Indiana, President and Valedictorian of the Milford Class of 1926, member of the Milford Kiwanis Club, National Federated Craft #94, Grand Lodge F & AM of Indiana, Order of the Eastern Star Chapter #88, Kosciusko County Lodge #418 F & AM, National Association of Letter Carriers and an avid fisherman, having fished in all 50 states.

Survivors include 1 son: Gary (Bonnie) Groves of Tunkhannock, Pennsylvania, 2 Grandchildren and 2 Great-Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wife, 1 Son: Gage H., 1 Brother and 1 Sister.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, December 30, 2006, at 10:30AM at the Milford First Brethren Church. Pastor Billy Hesketh will officiate. Graveside Services will take place in Rest Haven Memorial Park, Friday, December 29, 2006, at 11:00AM. There will be no visitation.
