Robert D. Swenson

Robert D. Swenson, age 65 of Elkhart, formerly of Syracuse, passed away December 1, 2006, at Valley View Healthcare in Elkhart. He was born on February 4, 1941, in Kosciusko County, Indiana, to Ross Dwight & E. Janette (Erall) Swenson.

Robert lived in Syracuse most of his life and was a retired Purchasing Agent for Starcraft. He was also a US Air Force Vietnam Veteran, a 1959 graduate of Syracuse High School, attended the University of South Caroline on a full basketball scholarship. He also participated in the ROTC program.

Survivors include 1 Daughter: Andrea (Jim) Schlichting of Running Springs, CA, 1 Granddaughter: Desirea, 2 Sisters: Janet (Bernie) Erickson of Bremen, Sandy Swenson of CA, 1 Niece: Dawn (Mark) Galloway of Fishers, IN, and their two sons: Zachary and Trey. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Services will be held Sunday, December 10, 2006, at 3:00PM at the Mishler-Eastlund Funeral Home, Harris Chapel, in Syracuse. Pastor Harlan Steffen will officiate. Friends may call from 1-3PM Sunday prior to the service at the funeral home. There will be a military service.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Disabled American Veterans or the Marion Veterans Hospital.
