Ivar L. Martin

Ivar L. Martin, age 74, of Bremen, passed away on Friday, November 24, 2006, at Memorial Hospital of South Bend. He was born on January 26, 1932, in Bremen, Indiana, to Brison and Chloe (Kipfer) Martin.

On April 13, 1952, he married Martha Mutti. She survives.

A lifetime area resident, Ivar retired from Pfieffer Construction in 1993. He was a US Navy Korean Conflict Veteran, a member of the American Legion, Life member of the VFW Post 8972, Life member of the Fur Takers of America, Life member of the National Rifle Association, Indiana Trappers Association and the National Trappers Association. Ivar enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping, and birding (Bluebirds).

Survivors include his wife: Martha of Bremen, 3 Sisters: Marjorie Shorter, Mildred Leffert and June Pittman, all of Bremen, 2 Brothers: Dewey Martin and Lowell Martin, both of Bremen, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 Brothers: Dale and Walter and 2 infant brothers.

Services will be held Tuesday, November 28, 2006, at 3:00PM at the Bremen Cemetery Chapel in Bremen. Pastor Neil Wonnacott will officiate. Military Graveside Services will follow at the Bremen Cemetery. Friends may call from 1-3PM prior to the service on Tuesday at the cemetery chapel.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Community Hospital of Bremen, Marshall County Humane Society or the VFW Post 8972 Building Fund.
