Richard L. Haines

Richard L. Haines, age 65, of Warsaw, passed away on Saturday, November 4, 2006, at Kosciusko Community Hospital. He was born on December 29, 1940, in Warsaw, to Ora Franklin and Dorothy Mae (Pease) Haines.

On December 1, 1962, he married Sharon (Miller). She survives.

Richard lived in Michigan for 7 years until moving back to the area in 1960. He retired from RR Donnelly in 2001, after 41 years. Richard was a 1959 graduate of Hesperia High School in Michigan. He was a Winona Lake Senior Firefighter, a former member of the Winona Lake Volunteer Fire Department for 20 years and served as chief for 5 of those years. In 1992, he was named the Kosciusko County Fireman of the Year.

Survivors include his wife, Sharon, of Warsaw, 4 Sons: Robert (Shawn) Haines of Goshen, Todd (Paula) Haines of Milford, Troy Haines of Milford, Brian (Vicki) Haines of Milford, 9 grandchildren, 5 step-grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 sister Donna and 1 brother, John.

Services will be held at 10:30AM on Wednesday, November 8, 2006, at the Mishler-Eastlund Funeral Home in Milford. Pastor Stephen Leininger will officiate. Burial will follow at the Milford Cemetery. Friends may call on Tuesday, November 7, 2006, from 3-8PM at the Mishler-Eastlund Funeral Home in Milford. There will be a Fireman's Memorial for Richard at the funeral home on Tuesday, November 7, at 7:00PM.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Winona Lake Fire Volunteer Fire Department.
