Weldon Jay Lockhart, age 51, of North Webster, Indiana, died Monday, October 23, 2006, in North Webster. He was born September 29, 1955, in St. Ignace, Michigan, to Reginald and Jane (Mangene) Lockhart.
Weldon worked as a road construction laborer. He was a member of the Laborers International Union of North America Local #645 and in the North American Gardeners Club. Weldon was married to Patricia Owsley on May 6, 1979. He enjoyed gardening, visiting with family and friends and spending time with his dog, "Guinther Rene."
Weldon is survived by his children, Barbara (Mark Graham) Lockhart of North Webster, Frankie (Joshua Emmons) Lockhart of Claypool, Indiana, Waylon Lockhart and Morgan Lockhart, both of North Webster and four grandchildren, Mark Robert Graham, Jordan William Graham, Lucas Levi Graham and Joshua Michael Emmons. Also surviving are three brothers, Everett (Tammy) Lockhart of Pierceton, Indiana, James (Connie) Lockhart of Hessel, Michigan, and Robert (Kathleen) Lockhart of Syracuse, Indiana; and three sisters Lois Plank of Hessel, Michigan, Penny Hepler of Pierceton, Indiana and Joy Morris of North Webster, Indiana. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Freddie Lockhart.
Visitation will be held Friday, October 27, from 6-8PM, at the Mishler-Eastlund Funeral Home, Harris Chapel, 7458 E. 1000 North, Syracuse, Indiana.
Funeral services will be held Monday, October 30, 2006, at 1:00PM at the Reamer Galer Funeral Home, 24549 S M-129, Pickford, Michigan. Friends may call at Reamer Galer Funeral Home from 11:00AM until the time of the funeral service. Burial will be in the Maplewood Italian Cemetery in Hessel, Michigan, Clark Township.
