Effie M. Johnson

Effie M. Johnson, age 93, of Syracuse, passed away Tuesday, October 10, 2006, at Miller's Merry Manor in Syracuse. She was born on December 30, 1912 in Mount Vernon, Illinois, to James & Della Mae (McGill) Brown.

On February 28, 1940, she married Charlie Johnson. He preceded here in death in 1970.

A lifetime area resident, Effie was a homemaker. She attended the Wawasee Lakeside Chapel and belonged to the Bowling league in Syracuse.

Survivors include 1 Daughter: Mary Jane Hare of Fort Myers Beach, FL, 3 Sons: Lester Barnard of Westview, Charles Johnson of Memphis, TN, Bill Johnson of Cromwell, 12 Grandchildren: Tommy Markle, Teri Hill, Joe and Todd Barnard, Ty, Matt, Travis and Andy (April) Johnson, Alissa (Ben) Wooded, Melissa (Ron) Smith, Samantha (Butch) Johnson Van Hook, and Heather Lackey. 20 Great Grandchildren, 3 Great Great Grandchildren and 1 niece also survive. She was preceded by: 2 Brothers, 2 Sisters, 1 Son, 1 Granddaughter and 1 infant great grandchild.

Services will be held Saturday, October 21, 2006, at 12:00 P.M. at the Mishler-Eastlund Funeral Home, Harris Chapel in Syracuse. Pastor Harlan Steffen will officiate. Burial will follow at the Syracuse Cemetery. Friends may call two hours prior to the service (10AM-12PM) on Saturday, October 21, 2006 at the funeral home.

Memorials contributions may be made to Saint Jude's Children's Hospital.
