Mike M. Scott, age 66, of Bremen, passed away Monday, September 11, 2006, at the Community Hospital of Bremen. He was born on February 24, 1940, in Walkerton, Indiana, to Melvin "Bud" and June Fayette (Pearish) Scott.
On August 26, 1961, he married Ann Kay (Drudge). She survives.
A lifelong area resident, Mike worked in Construction for NIPSCO, retiring in 1996. He was a graduate of Bremen High School, where he was a member of the first football team. He was also a member of the First United Church of Christ, the National Rifle Association and the Wyatt Conservation Club. Mike enjoyed nature and the outdoors; he was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Survivors include his wife: Ann Kay Scott, of Bremen; 2 daughters: Robyn (Todd) Leyden and Cari Steinke, both of Indianapolis. 3 grandchildren: Blake Leyden, Eric Steinke and Chase Leyden, all of Indianapolis. 1 sister: Shirley Brooks of Tollesboro, Kentucky. A sister-in-law: Jo Drudge of Rome City, Indiana. 2 nephews: David and Danny Clark, both of Kentucky and a niece: Melody Clark of Kentucky, also survive. He was preceded in death by a grandson: Payton Leyden and a nephew: Scott Clark.
Services will be held Thursday, September 14, 2006, at 10:00AM at the First United Church of Christ, 323 S. Center Street, Bremen, Indiana. Pastor Susan Sickelka will officiate. Burial will follow at Bremen Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-8PM on Wednesday, September 13, 2006, at the Mishler Funeral Home in Bremen and 1 hour prior to services on Thursday at the Church.
