Mary Helen Larkin, age 77, of Syracuse, passed away on Friday, August 25, 2006, at her residence. She was born on October 21, 1928, in Stoney Point, North Carolina, to Ross & Ethel May (Crawford) Fox.
On August 21, 1979, she married Elmer "Al" Larkin. He survives.
Growing up in Detroit, Mary moved to Indianapolis in 1958, and to Syracuse in 1967. Mary was a homemaker, a member of Syracuse American Legion Post 223 Ladies' Auxiliary, Syracuse Eagles #3760, and a 1947 graduate of Western High School in Detroit.
Survivors include her husband: Elmer "Al" of Syracuse; 1 daughter: Diann Garnell of Augusta, Georgia; 2 sons: Curt (Beverly) Smith of Syracuse and Dean (Aimee) Smith of Waterford, Michigan; 5 step daughters: Kathleen (Gordon) Comer of Plant City, Florida; Colleen (John) Rosso of Manchester, Maryland; Annette (Jerri) Good of Elsie, Michigan, Janine (Bobbie) Frier of Birch Run, Michigan; Linda (Jim) Freeland of Richland, Michigan; 1 step son: Robert Larkin of Cromwell; 21 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and 1 brother: Aaron Gibson Fox of Sterling Heights, Michigan. She was preceded in death by her parents and 1 sister: Shirley Zilli.
Services will be held Tuesday, August 29, 2006, at 10:00AM at the Mishler-Eastlund Funeral Home, Harris Chapel, in Syracuse. Pastor Harlan Steffen will officiate. Burial will follow at the Syracuse Cemetery. Friends may call from 2-4PM and 6-8PM on Monday at the funeral home and 1 hour prior to services on Tuesday.
Memorial contributions may be given to Care at Home Hospice Program of Goshen General Hospital, 200 High Park Avenue, Goshen, Indiana 46526.
