Delmar E. "Del" Kiefer, age 75, of Plymouth, passed away on Wednesday, August 9, 2006. He was born on November 1, 1930, in Bremen to Frank E. & Arvilla (Stuntz) Kiefer.
On December 2, 1987, he married Nancy Helps. She survives.
Living most of his life in Bremen, Del spent the last 18 years in Plymouth. He retired after 43 years as a Cutoff operator for Bremen Bearings.
Del was a U.S. Army Korean War Veteran and was a member of the American Legion. At 8 years of age, Del gave his life to God and was saved. He was a member of the First Baptist Chuch in Bremen, was devoted to his love of fishing and gardening, but more so his love for his family. He enjoyed and read, faithfully, the Scriptures, Psalm 22, being his favorite. He was very fond of music.
Survivors include his wife: Nancy Kiefer of Plymouth. 2 daughters: Laurel (Armando) Salazar and Karen (Jerry) Smith, both of Bremen. 2 sons: Phil (Darla) and David (Nora) Kiefer, both of Bremen. 3 step-sons: Don (Diane), Rick (Carol), and George (Lynn) Ranos, all of Chicago, Illinois. His brother Gerald (Dee) Kiefer of Bremen also survives. Del has 12 grandchildren, 13 step grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and 5 step great grandchildren surviving. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister: Geneva R. Oldfather.
Services will be held on Monday, August 14, 2006, at 11:00AM at the First Baptist Church in Bremen. Burail will take place at the Bremen Cemetery. Friends may call from 1-5PM on Sunday, August 13, 2006, at the Mishler Funeral Home in Bremen and 1 hour prior to services on Monday at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church or Hospice of Marshall County.
