Gene De La Cruz, 46, of
Syracuse, passed away Thursday,
May 25, 2006 at Goshen General Hospital. He was born April 1, 1960 in Napoleon, IN to Carlos & Elvira (Ramos) De La Cruz, Sr.
He married Bridget Oglesbee April 18, 1997 and she survives.
Gene was a lifelong area resident. He worked in Manufacturing for Rinker Boat Company in Syracuse. He was a West Noble High School Graduate, and a former member of Duck's Unlimited. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and coaching little league & various softball teams in the area.
He is survived by his wife Bridget De La Cruz of Syracuse, mother, Elvira De La Cruz of Larwill, IN, a son Jeremy, stationed in Little Rock, Arkansas with the U.S. Air force, a daughter Jacki (Joey) Ferny of Palestine, IN, 3 Step-Children Beth West of Goshen, Betsy (Josh) Howard of Warsaw and Bobbie (Justine) Davis of Syracuse, 7 Grandchildren also survive. He has 4 sisters Mary (Richard) Gaerte of Pierceton, Esther Black of Pierceton, Virginia (Tom) Halsey of Syracuse and Eloise Cassidy of N. Webster, IN, and 2 Brothers Fred (Juli) of Butler, IN, and Carlos De La Cruz, Jr. of Larwill, IN. surviving.
He was Preceded in death by his Father Carlos, Sr., a Daughter Jenny, a Brother Juan and a sister Lilly
Services will be held Sunday, May 28, 2006 at 12:00 P.M. (noon)
at the Mishler-Eastlund Funeral Home, Harris Chapel in Syracuse, IN.
