Jeffrey L. Bohnstedt, age 49, of Syracuse, passed away Tuesday, February 21, 2006, at his residence after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on March 6, 1956, in Warsaw to Richard & Carolyn (Barnhart) Bohnstedt.

A lifelong area resident, Jeffrey was Vice President of Precision Benders, Inc., in Milford. He was an active member of the Syracuse Church of God, where he started the Promise Keepers Group, was an Elder and Youth Leader for the Church and served as Sunday School Superintendent. Jeff and his family were planning a mission trip to Arizona at the time of his illness. He was a graduate of Wawasee High School, where he holds the permanent record in short-sprint in track. He attended Purdue University in Ft. Wayne, where he also ran track. He enjoyed bowling, fishing and working with computers. Most of all, he loved his family.

On August 4, 1979, he married Becky Bohnstedt. She survives.

Survivors include his wife: Becky, his parents: Richard & Carolyn Bohnstedt, 2 daughters: Tiffany (Ben) Heimann of Warsaw and Kimberly Bohnstedt, a senior at Indiana Wesleyan, who lives at home in Syracuse. 2 sisters: Debra (Gary) Hill of Milford and Sharon (Ben) Reed of Greentown, Indiana. A brother also survives: Dan (Shawn) Bohnstedt of Milford.

Services will be held Saturday, February 25, 2006, at 3:00PM at the Mishler-Eastlund Funeral Home in Syracuse. Pastor Vince Wilczynski will officiate. Friends may call from 2:00-8:00PM on Friday, February 24, 2006, at the Mishler-Eastlund Funeral Home, Harris Chapel, in Syracuse.

Memorials may be given to the Syracuse Church of God, Promise Keepers or the American Cancer Society.
