Raymond "Bud" C. Ton, age 84, of Bremen, passed away Monday, February 13, 2006. He was born in Chicago on February 28, 1921, to Frank & Anna (Vendl) Ton.
Growing up in Chicago, Bud moved to the Lake of the Woods in the 1960s. He began his career as a tool and die maker. He then worked his way up to becoming Plant Manager with Bell & Howell in Chicago, left Bell & Howell in 1960 and started Ton Manufacturing, he retired in 1990. Bud attended Christian Science Churches, he was a graduate of Austin High School in Chicago where he was on the swim team, he was also a graduate of Washburn Trade School in Chicago. He served his country in the Navy on a mine sweeper in WWII. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Bremen, a member of the Scottish Rite in Chicago, a member of the VFW in Bremen and the American Legion in Lapaz. He enjoyed arrowhead hunting and building models and he loved his family and dogs.
On July 26, 1950, he married Annetta (Wiersma) Ton, she preceded him in death in January of 1981.
Survivors include 1 son: Raymond C. Ton, Jr. of Lake of the Woods and 1 daughter: Kathryn "Katie" (John) Swank of Bremen. 1 sister: Marge (Al) Grell of Green Valley, Arizona. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife: Annetta.
Services and Internment will be private. Burial will be at the Highland Cemetery in North Judson. Friends may call from 4-8PM on Friday, February 17, 2006, at the Mishler Funeral Home in Bremen.
Memorials may be given to the Bremen VFW Building Fund and the Marshall County Humane Society.
