Robert D. Widmar

Robert D. Widmar, age 94, of Pompano Beach, Florida, formerly of Bremen, passed away on Thursday, February 9, 2006, at 10:00PM at his residence. He was born September 16, 1911, in Bremen, to Herman and Hedwig (Genaize) Widmar.

A lifetime Bremen resident, Robert was the owner and operator of a trucking business. He attended the First United Church of Christ in Bremen; was a former Bremen volunteer fireman, receiving his 50 year pin; Past President of the Indiana Volunteer Firemen's Association; 32nd Degree Mason and the Shrine.

On June 30, 1946, in Goshen, he married Helen Bowser. She preceded in 2004.

Survivors include 1 daughter: Joyce (Doug) Miller of Bremen, 2 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, 1 step daughter: Kay Panci, 2 sisters: Ruth Leman and Mary Jan Widmar.

Services will be held on Wednesday, February 15, 2006, at 10:00AM at the Mishler Funeral Home in Bremen. Pastor Susan Sickelka will officiate. Burial will follow at the Bremen Cemetery. Friends may call from 7-9PM Tuesday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be given to Hospice of Marshall County.
