Loren Lamar Walker

Loren Lamar Walker, age 78, of Bremen, passed away at Community Hospital of Bremen on Sunday, January 15, 2006. He was born in Bremen on November 10, 1927, to Harold and Gladys (Simon) Walker.

A lifelong Bremen resident, Loren worked for 38 years for Bendix in South Bend, where he retired in 1985 from the purchasing department. He was a member of the Salem United Methodist Church in Bremen, a 1945 Bremen High School graduate and served in the United States Army. He was a Mason.

On April 25, 1981, he married Genny Hochstetler, she survives.

Survivors include his wife: Genny (Hochstetler) Welborn-Walker of Bremen. 4 daughters: Karen (Don) Wright of Danville, Indiana, Nancy Walker of Indianapolis, Jill (Allan) Young of Bremen and Connie Welborn of Indianapolis. 3 sons: John (Mary A.) Walker of Bremen, Mike (Tammy) Walker of Australia and Jeff (Marsha) Welborn of Bremen. 8 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren survive. Loren has a brother, Richard Walker of Phoenix, Arizona, who also survives. He was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife: Mary Ruth Walker, who died in December, 1971.

Services will be held Friday, January 20, 2006, at 11:00am at the Mishler Funeral Home in Bremen. Pastor Chuck Krieg will officiate. Burial will follow at the Bremen Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-8PM Thursday, January 19, 2006, at the Mishler Funeral Home in Bremen and 1 hour prior to services on Friday at the funeral home. A Masonic Service will be held on Thursday at 7:30PM at the funeral home.

Memorials may be given to Salem United Methodist Building Fund, Bremen Hospital Building Fund, Hospice of Marshall County or the Marshall County American Cancer Society.
