Stephen P. Davis

February 24, 1953 — January 11, 2006

Stephen P. Davis, age 52, of Syracuse, passed away on January 11, 2006, after a courageous battle with brain cancer. He was born February 24, 1953, in South Bend, Indiana, to John W. & Lois M. (Bagwell) Davis.

Living in Syracuse most of his life, he worked at Pine Manor in Goshen for 15 years. He was a graduate of Eastbrook High School in Marion, IN and attended Huntington College. He was a member of the Calvary United Methodist Church in Syracuse, where he participated in the choir. Stephen was very involved and enjoyed teaching Sunday School and teaching at the after school program. He supported numerous charitable causes, such as the Humane Society. He was also a member of the Northern Indiana Emmaus Community.

On June 5, 1982, he married Shireen (Hoover) Davis. She survives.

Survivors include his wife: Shireen of Syracuse, 2 daughters: Stephenie (Forrest) Boesenberg of Leesburg, Shaundra Davis of Syracuse. Mother: Lois Davis of North Manchester. 1 sister: Mary (Ned) Rogers of Batesville, IN. 2 brothers: Tim Davis of Syracuse, and Mike (Tammy) Davis of Lawrenceburg, Indiana. He was preceded in death by his father and 1 sister: Martha.

Services will be held at 11:00AM, Saturday, January 14, 2006, at the Calvary United Methodist Church in Syracuse. The Reverend David Herr, Rev. John Modesett and Pastor Terry Bucholtz will officiate. Burial will follow at the Syracuse Cemetery. Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8PM on Friday, January 13, 2006, at the Mishler-Eastlund Funeral Home in Syracuse and 1 hour prior to the services at the Church on Saturday.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Humane Society or the American Cancer Society.
