Jack L. Reece

Jack L. Reece, age 68, of Syracuse, passed away Wednesday, September 21, 2005 at Parkview Whitley Hospital in Columbia City, after a battle with lung cancer. He was born January 12, 1937 in Lafayette, IN to Carson & Stella (Whittaker) Reece.

Jace was the owner and operator of Wawasee Insurance Agency before his retirement. He was a 1955 graduate of Lafayette Jeff High School, and attended Purdue Univeristy where he played baseball. Jack had lived in Lafayette, South Bend, Ft. Wayne and Goshen, before moving to Syracuse.

He is survived by his two daughters Suzanne Reece of Florida and Stephanie VanSyckle of Delphi, IN, six sisters, Janet Corman of Texas, Joyce Arnold of Tennessee, Daisy Maxwell, Judy McIntosh, Ruth Crosier, and Diane Davies all of Lafayette, two brothers, Ron and Bud Reece, both of Lafayette. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Lucy Davis and Flora Black.

Services will be held 12:00PM Tuesday, September 27, 2005 at the Mishler-Eastlund Funeral Home, Harris Chapel in Syracuse. Rev. Harlan Steffen will officiate. There will be no visitation.

Memorials may be given to Whitley County Hospice.
